On their new EP "HATE SONGS" the german duo MR BROWN likes to keep their songs short, sharp, and well,…distorted.
Cut down to a duo with Daniel Green on vocals and fuzz-guitar as well as former lead-guitarist Carl Albrecht on drums and backingvocals they set out to whack you in the face with what they proclaim to sound like "Simon and Garfunkel on Crystal Meth".
Although the "duo-plays-freaky-abusive-music" format is not new by any means - it has always been a successful recipe for highly creative and entertaining music.
MR BROWN is no exception and have re-invented their music with a way more direct and authentic (as well as highly distorted) approach to their songs and sound.
The reunion is also more than anything a quest for personal reconciliation and an honest approach to mend a friendship that was once based on the love of making great music together, but was consumed by overpowering egos and the aspirations of trying to become rock-stars 15 years ago.
While rebuilding their friendship chances are real to see a follow up album to the 2007 debut album "It's all happening" which was produced by Ronald Bood (mando diao, ...).
And who knows - maybe they might be touring on the vans warped tour (USA) once again like they did 17 years ago...
